Playing M&R in Germany
« on: March 01, 2012, 02:29:26 AM »
Hello,

just to let everybody know - there is at least one player in Germany who is very much interessted in M&R.
Sofar I've read the rules and I must admit I'm sold on them.

I do have enough BACCUS Prussian and Austrian Minis (alas - not painted yet)

What's missing for the time being is an opponent (who could also serve as a booster for my painting activities ...)

I'm living in southern Germany (Karlsruhe).
If anybody is living nearby I'd be glad to get in touch.

Cheers
additz

You're definitely not alone, but unfortunatelly Karlsruhe is too far away from from where I live (Niederbayern). Have you already tried to find opponents in the sweetwater forum?

Hi J.S.

Yes - I'm a member of sweetwater and Tiny-Soldiers (which is way more in historical wargaming than sweetwater)
You can find me there under the same nick.

Where in Niederbayern are you living - may I ask?

Maybe we can meet in Ulm in May? There will be held the 9.Attriti-Con, which is the biggest wargaming-event in South Germany.
There will be a FoG and a DBMM-tournament (the latter I will be attending) usually very nice demonstration and participation games a few trader and even nicer people.
You'll find the announcement in Tiny-Soldiers: http://www.tiny-soldiers.com/gemeinschaft/board66-veranstaltungen/7104-attriticon-ulm-tabletopcon-vom-18-bis-20-mai-2012/ and impressions about the event at: http://www.ulmer-strategen.de/attriticon.htm

It was there, where I bought M&R.

Hope to meet you there  ;)

Hi Axel,

I'm also registered at the Tiny-Soldiers forum, but I havent had the time yet to spend much time there. I live in the area around Straubing/Regensburg and there's at least one more Lasalle/M&R player here. We are definitely planing to visit the Lasalle event in Ulm this year, but I don't know whether we'll make it to the Attricon.
Another good opportunity would be the Südkurve in Erlangen which lays roughly in the middle between Ulm and Regensburg. (haven't consulted google maps though, could be wrong  ???)
Anyways.. as luck would have it,  I've also got Baccus miniatures (French WAS/SYW) for M&R, which would fit quite nicely. So hopefully we'll meet at one event or the other!

Gruß,
Jeremias

Hi Jeremias,

when will be the Lasalle-event?
Maybe I can make it there ...

You should try to come the Attriti-Con. It's worth it
and I can't wait to play M&R (if I may dare to ask for an introduction game  ;))

Since Carlos is organising the Südkurve, he keeps inviting me.
It's supposed to be very nice (I'm also looking forward to get to know Axebreaker - do you know him?)
but it's only one day - and a long way to get there.

Erlangen is north from you (roughly 150km), whereas Ulm is west of Regensburg (about 220km) on the way towards Stuttgart.
Regensburg is a nice city btw - I've been there once. I sold Pendraken Prussians to somebody there (can't remember his name)

Bis in Ulm oder Erlangen
Gruß,
Axel

Hi!

sorry for the delay, I've been busy writing a term paper for a Hauptseminar.
Unfortunatelly I've got only 1 M&R army completly ready at the moment (Swedes for the Great Nothern War expansion), while the Russian still wait for their bases to be finished.
The 6mm army is quite far form being finished..somehow there has always been another project with a higher priority (Naps, AWI and so on..)
Oh and yes, I met Christopher at Erlangen, he did an Impeuts game there. I guess I also know the guy you sold the Prussians, because there are only 2 people in the Regensburg area who play with 10mm figures  ;)

Grüße,
Jeremias
