Tactical Jump Drive
« on: October 09, 2016, 07:52:59 AM »
The Tactical Jump Drive can move you to (just about) anywhere on the table but can you pick your facing, or is that preserved from your starting position?

I'm inclined to say your facing remains the same, otherwise it's a potentially horrendous bodyslam. For example, jump to directly behind the enemy and then slam them with a railgun and two needleguns in their rear quadrant, then sod off in your move step.

No, you can pick your facing.

It's supposed to be dangerous... but potentially also dangerous to you.   In order to set it up perfectly, though, you'd need a bit of luck in the sequence.

What about using the Navigator crew member? Jump into position in your move step, then blam all in the same round. Legit combination, or veering towards cheese? I'm concerned that if someone jumped an isolated ship with four thrusters in this way then the attacked ship wouldn't even be able to turn to face its attacker, limiting the response somewhat.
