Playing with 15mm Figures -- What are people doing?
« on: February 12, 2016, 07:10:42 PM »
All,

How are people organizing their 15mm units for Aurelian?

My figures are "traditionally" based on 40mm wide bases.

It appears to me that I could play with figures in units only a single base wide.  I figure I'd have massed infantry in 2 to 4 bases deep.  Lights and mounted in one base deep.  In this case BW would equal 1-1/2" and I could play on the 3x2 map.

On the other hand, I could form units two bases wide and 2 to 4 bases deep.  (Maybe still run mounted and lights 1 deep).  Then I'd be playing with a BW = ~3" on a 6x4 map.

But just in case I went to a convention -- what are other 15mm players doing?

Thanks for responses in advance.

I'm working on bases that are 40 wide & 30 deep. Massed infantry are mounted 2 deep, all others in one rank. I plan on going with units 2 bases wide, therefore having a nominal BW of 80mm. Looking okay so far (Not good advanced enough to do any pics as yet.).

80mm wide and 40mm deep for most infantry, 60mm deep for cavalry and large units.

Similar to FOG...80mm wide and two bases deep excepting Elephants.
i.e. 80mm x 30mm or 40mm for foot; 80mm x 60mm Cavalry; 80mm x 40mm Elephants.
