new start in 6mm advice basing
« on: September 17, 2018, 09:20:45 AM »
hi all , now about to start building 2 6mm adler armies for the 100 days, so far I have 3.5 inch  bases, with the back quarter inch for a info list, I know the rules say for a 6x4 table 3 inch square , so am I best going to 3 inch square or would I be ok staying with 3.5 inch square? thanks glen

Hi Glen,
The entire game is based on Base Width or "BW" so yes you can use 3.5" bases and use the 3.5" as your base width measurement. As a lot of folks use 2" or 3" for their 6mm armies you will have to make adjustment when using other gamers armies.  Having an extensive collection of 6mm troop why the extra half inch?

I was playing with 10mm pendrakens so used 3.5 with them, but going to drop a scale to 6mm and start again, that's why I was looking into 3" square or 3.5" square

I use Baccus bases which are 60x30mm  - between 2 and 3 inches.  In my test games, rather than use true BW, I just call it 3 inches so I can use a regular tape measure.  To fit bigger battles on my 6x4' table, I call it 2 inches.
