Cancon 2018
« on: February 03, 2017, 03:01:31 PM »
Hi all,

I'll fess up and say I'm yet to play a game (but that is about to change in a big way); but I've got the book, cards and the army is being assembled.

Purpose of this post is to advise we are planning a Longstreet campaign at Cancon  2018 in Canberra (Australia) over the Australia Day weekend in January next year. We've got at least 20 who have indicated they'll be attending from around Australia. Cancon is the largest gaming weekend in Australia.

For information on Cancon, have a look here: http://www.cgs.asn.au/cancon/

We have established a Facebook page for our planned event; drop me a line if you're interested in joining in.

Post any questions you may have.

Wow working way ahead!

Any idea of scale of figures or theme of battle yet in this early stage?

Will be playing the Longstreet Campaign in 2018, and Gettysburg over three days in 2019.

Scale will be 28mm.

At this stage, we've got about 26 players scrambling to assemble, paint and learning the Longstreet rules.

Wow 9 games over the weekend ambitious! Would love to be there but I doubt I'll be able to make it.

Learning the rules will be easy you won't have an issue there.

Good luck!

Hi mate - drop me an email to kakes1fs@gmail.com

I'd also recommend you joining our Facebook page: 'Australian ACW Gamers' - https://www.facebook.com/groups/877336925698885/

We're all preparing a Brigade each with Commander, 4x 10 stand regiments, and a battery (three guns for Union, two guns for CSA).

The Cancon page won't have anything on it until we get over our Wintercon in July this year. At this stage between 20-26 players showing interest and madly painting.

PS - had my first game and loved it.
