Getting the card deck in Europe
« on: March 02, 2017, 04:43:59 AM »
Hi there,

I'd like to get my hands on the full set of Longstreet cards, not just the lite version. However, Wargamevault only seems to deliver the physical cards from the US, which means postal charges as high as the price of the deck itself plus customs fees plus VAT on top, which would raise the overall costs to above 60 USD.

I have been unable to find a PDF version of the full card set. Could that not be made available for the non-Americans among us? I'd be happy to pay for a print and play PDF.

The ideal solution would be to find a UK-based Print-on-Demand supplier who can do the same thing that DriveThru Cards does, and I've been searching for one in vain for two years now.

I'll give some thought to the creation of a PDF version, but I'm way too busy at the moment, and the whole site is about to get a complete revamp in any event, which will take about a month to sort out all the bugs.

I still have a 3mm army to paint for Blucher, so I am not in that much of a rush. ;-) But 3mm ACW would be my next project if I can get my hands on Longstreet. I am waiting with bated breath!  :D

It is the same company as wargamevault, so unfortunately the same issues apply.

I was just about to buy the pdf version but wanting to make sure what I was buying.
It appears that I can't get cards to play. The games been on sales for two years or more yet Sam is too busy to provide them for sale.
I suppose this applies to all Honour games.
I'm curious, what use is a card driven game without cards ?

The cards have never been out of print.  All you have to do is go to the "Longstreet" page on the HONOUR website and you'll see that the Longstreet card set is for sale from DriveThru Cards:

http://www.drivethrucards.com/product/177784/Longstreet-Card-Set?src=hottest_in_print

In fact, it's currently the #3 best-seller on that site.

Gents,

this is a late response here, but I'd like to give out a positive shout for Drive Thru Cards.  I'm in the UK, and a couple of months ago I finally decided to get the Blucher Austrian and Russian cards, and then added in the Longstreet cards to the order.  They said delivery in 3 - 7 weeks, but the cards arrived inside 2 weeks.  Great service.

I accepted that there would be postage, but that was OK.  I reckoned it was part of the deal. Then the UK Customs "chaps" did their bit and stung me for 18.  I had some sweary words with game club friends who'd had similar experiences getting stuff from outwith the UK, but then we accept it, laugh at some of the things we do for a hobby and get on with the games.

So boo, hiss to UK Customs and a big cheer for Drive Thru Cards.
cheers,
Tom
