This adventure is based on the introductory game (chapter 10). It is intended to introduce a new player to an existing campaign .... or when the players just want to beat each other up without risking their ships !
Adventure 11: Show Time
Sides and Victory Conditions
This is a free for all adventure.
You have been invited to participate in a televised combat game.
All your weapons have been rendered non destructive and your brain has been programmed to simulate the effect of weapon hits on your ship.
The objective is a fight to the (virtual) death, the winner receiving the prize money.
If any of the players are novices, there are only two small moons in the middle of the game zone (placed as in the basic game, page 30).
If all the players are experienced then they may add asteroids or other objects or regions which the players agree upon, or make a die roll for:
1= 1 patch of asteroids
2= 2 patches of asteroids
3= 3 patches of asteroids
4= Nebula (placed as in adventure eight) then re-roll once *
5= Star (placed as in adventure three) then re-roll once *
6= Black hole (placed as in adventure six) then re-roll once *
* for this second roll: 1, 2 or 3 give asteroids; 4, 5 or 6 count as no effect
Draw sequence cards to decide the order of deployment. The player places his ship on an edge at least 24” from any other ship. Then, in reverse order, each player may change the facing of his ship.
Any ships leaving the game zone will be disqualified.
You are to provide a spectacle. Any ship remaining cloaked or hiding behind a moon for more than one turn will be disqualified, however up to one full orbit is permitted. OPTIONAL: Any ship which in the opinion of all other players is not fully participating (providing a spectacle) will be disqualified.
When there is only one ship remaining, the game ends. All ships will have their expenses paid, so there is no refueling and reconditioning cost. All systems will be returned to normal, so there are no repair costs.
All participants who are not disqualified receive a bounty of $5. The winner receives a bounty of $10 instead.
