Using a smaller BW - Table size?
« on: May 28, 2017, 05:24:22 PM »
Hi folks,

I am looking at doing WSS in 10mm.
Am thinking about using a 20mm BW, with most based on 40mm frontages with two
Bases to a unit ( guns excluded).

If I used  30 BW x 45 BW board, that would equate to a 600mm x 900mm board.
The physical size would suit the type of portable/ pub game I am trying to create, but is that a big enough board in BW to play a standard game?

Any thoughts?

Cheers Bryan

If you had a 2" (50mm) base on a 6 X 4' table, then the table is essentially 36 BW X 24 BW.

If I understand you correctly, you're proposing a table that is considerably larger than that, so Yes, it should be more than adequate.

Sam,

Thanks for the input.
It would seem that a minimum sized table for what I have in mind would equate to 72cm x 48cm.

That is about the size of a Command and Colours board, so very portable. Much appreciated.

I have played quite a bit if Lasalle and BLucher, but yet to get Maurice to the table.
Thanks for the help.

Cheers Bryan
