Hugh and Bruce,
I started this thread a year ago and then drifted away into other games and other interests. But I guess I've cycled back to Napoleonics and LaSalle and am interested in hooking up with other LaSallians to try the game and to prepare for Blucher in the coming year. I live in Apple Valley near Cedar Ave.

I have a 15mm French Empire period infantry division with some odds and ends cav that comprise a support choice. I also have a Prussian SYW army that is a several weekend rebasing sessions away from constituting a LaSalle 1806 Prussian force for the whole world to beat on! And then there's the Austrian 1809 15mm army I acquired a number of years ago and am gradually repainting. In recent months, though, I've really gone off the deep end: rebasing and now even painting Adler 6mm Napoleonic figures onto 30mm x 20mm stands (12 infantry/4cav/1gun)with the idea of quickly (well for me!) building large forces of 1809 French and Austrians in anticipation of Blucher. I don't expect anyone else to venture down this rabbit hole with me in terms of painting and basing the little guys, but hopefully someone or someones will be willing to command the other side!

The first responder (no, he's not a fireman) to my initial posting above was Great Redoubt, a/k/a Bart, who at the time had a large Russian infantry force for 1812 that is no doubt ginormous by now. We laid plans to get together early this year, but then I got diverted and haven't circled back yet. Bart, are you out there and still interested?

So, if I don't sound too nutty and you are looking for another partner in Napoleonic crime, then let me know. I have a comfy, well-lit (folks tease me that it could double as a surgery room) gaming room, but I can venture out into the snow drifts too. My email is Vorenus@charter.net.

Thanks,
Van

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for replying. I have not played Lasalle (or any other napoleonic miniatures) before so we would be learning the rules together. I have played a lot of other miniature games though so not a complete newbie.

Where are you located and where to do you prefer to play? I can travel or host. I have a game table in the basement and a good terrain collection. Don't mind traveling either as long as I as I know there is a game or two at the end of the drive.

Hugh

Hello Hugh,

I saw your post on the Minnesota Miniature gamers forum also.

I own a set of Lasalle rules. I've paged through them several times. I have lots of 15mm Naploleonic figures. I don't have a good grasp of the rules as of yet, but I am willing to have a go at them providing you can suffer a newbie to the rules.

Hi Tom,
I am working on an Empire French infantry division with a couple cavalry support choices. I don't expext to have my army ready for the table top before the end of the year but will keep an eye out for the Centurions announcements. Thinking about an Empire Russian Guards or Peninsula British Infantry army next but that is probably a 2011 project :-)
Regards,
Hugh

I am painting for waterloo period, Britsh/Allied, Prussian, and French. We will be gaming at the Source. Look for the group "Centurians" at the Source. We game on the first and third Saturdays of each month and rotate games and periods. I will be introducing Lasalle to the group soon as I complete my forces. Ask for Tom. I've been gaming since 1972, and played Campaigns of Napoleon, Empire 3, Napoleon's Battles and Napoleonic Command.

Chris who? <Kidding>

I've shown them to Chris a couple times but he seems pre-occupied with painting FOW Soviets and British these days. He also took a promotion at work that has cut into this gaming time a lot.

Hugh,

You've got to get a copy of these Rules in Chris Grau's hands. He used to have good size Naploenics collection as I recall. I KNOW he has bucket loads of 7YW stuff.

Hi guys,

Long time miniatures/wargamer but relatively new to Napoleonics. I was impressed with the Lasalle rules. Own/read several Napoleonics miniatures rules but this was the first that motivated me to get some miniatures. Just ordered a couple battalions of AB French to start building a French Infantry Division. It will be months before I have an army ready but hopefully by the summer time I will be ready to take the field. I live in SW 'burbs and don't mind hosting or travelling.

Regards,
Hugh

I'm in the SE Metro. Picked up a copy of the rules at the Source holiday sale. I've got a lot of 15mm Russians based for Napoleon's Battles and am currently working on 18mm 1807 Russians for Legacy of Glory/Piquet/Le Feu Sacre and some 10mm Russians for one fool thing or another. That's what I get for running into the SPI guys...

If you are who I think you are we gamed a long time ago (early/mid '90's)... 15mm SYW at the old Legacy games and at your old house in S. Minneapolis. I'd be interested in giving the rules a spin at some point in the relatively near future. My work schedule is such right now that I may not get free on a weekend until sometime in February.

I've got a contact page on my blog. Shoot me an email and we can chat offline.

My copy of LaSalle arrived last Wednesday, and, like the other posters, I am really impressed with the thoroughness of the rule design and the state of the art presentation. I am now rebasing my Napoleon's Battles French 15mm army and wondering if there is anyone in the Twin Cities area who is a potential gaming partner.
