Has a general consensus been reached on 15mm basing?
That is, will it be 40mm wide or 1 and 1/2 wide?
Does it even matter?

This question has been asked on many threads and I would recommend a search of the forum.
basically if all units are based the same for each side it does not matter, most popular appears to be 40mm
I second guyot's post. I think you'll find that tournaments will also use the 40mm basing convention. Also with 40mm you can use your bases with other yet to be released rules, which shall remain unnamed. However, I will stick with LaSalle for Napoleonics!

I would suggest that the two are close enough for government work anyway. The difference could be down to cutting errors and flock hanging over the edge. Both would use 1 1/2" or 40mm for measurement depending on whether you played in imperial or metric. I don't think there would be any issue at all with a 1 1/2" army playing a 40mm army.
