Rules state
""thus the defender may add up to 2 new terrien features, and the attacker may add one. A player is never required to add any terrein""
At most their never more than 3 terrein features added.
the size of the army does not alter this rule.
There a Nation special rules for customizing so you need to check them out for your nation.
Terrien rules are recommendations only and you can agree with your opponent to do something different.You should read page 90 for the full story.hope that helps cheers

i read this but i suppose is for games with only one supporting brigade. Never more than 3 terrein features added, i think that is for all games.Posted 1 year ago # -

I guess this is because your table size isn't usally getting any bigger.
But if everyone you play with is happy about it and you have the terrein pieces you could add another piece of terrein each per extra brigade.cheers.

We usually just throw terrain around the board and have at it ....

I'd suggest limits on the types of terrain pickable, especailly if you're going to add more : For example, allowing the defender to pick, say, three 'wall' options which they then place in a line.
Possibly allowing each player to only pick any given terrain type once.
