French vs Brits in the Peninsula
1 core + 2 choices each.
The French are attacking.
We rolled up the crossroads table and didn't add any more terrin , we were just out to have a bash and learn the rules.
The French took a couple of artillery hits , but the French Cavalry was steaming across the fields.
The Dragoons swing across and look for a juicy target and the French light Cav take on the right wing.
We worked out that March column ignores the villgaes , so quite quickly the French emgerged from the crossroads , given time to do this by the Cavalry taking all the British attention.
These brave gunners saw off this Cavalry charge twice , they must have been SCOTS !
3rd time lucky and the Cav took the guns :(
The French Cav have done their thing , long enough for the infantry to get into position.
Finally the British Dragoons turn up , and slow down the French right wing , but alas the battle is lost in the centre where the French take the objective.
A good fun game that only took 2.5 hours , not bad for 1 bloke having never played and myself only played once before.
We probably stuffed a few things but we middled our way throuhg with no headaches.
Now I should work on my tactics and get stuck into that Cav commander for turning up so late.
