Hi, I have posted a version of this enquiry elsewhere, but probably not in the correct section, so, if I base my 6mm. on two bases of 50x25 as in M&R (it is still possible to denote square/march/line,) as I would be doing both sides would this basing work for Lasalle? I would like to stay with this bsing system as I can use it for Grand Tactical rules V&B GA etc. and Petite Tactical ITNOG etc. pebix.
6mm. on 2 x bases per unit.

I think that as long as you keep the ability to depict frontage changes, column, line, march and mass all have different frontages, and are able to give large units a wider fronatge than small units you should be fine.
The bigest issue is likely to be the frontage of large vs small units, but putting large units on a sabot base would fix that.

Using three of your long bases to depict "large" units would make the trick too.
As long as you play against a similarly based army -or one with half widht for you- the effect should be unapreciable ... except for your squares and march formations

Thanks all, I like the idea of using three bases for large units, as for squares and march formations I will probably place the unit as in line and put at the "leading" end a marker with an arrow indicating the unit is in march formation. As to representing squares I thougt two bases back to back and if a large unit the third base would go at right angles to the two bases, not square exactly, but close enough and as I am building both sides I'm sure it shouldn't matter too much? I've had a change of mind regarding 50x25 and instead will be basing on 60x30 as this seems to be a popular size of base for 6mm. Thanks again, pebix.
