I havent played Lasalle yet, as I was browsing the Army builder lists something was unclear for me.
If for example I was to play a Peninsula french infantry division do I need 23 infantry battalions (9 more if attacking! + cavalry and guns?
Can this be right? I think it is way too many battalions representing 5-700 men each?
Can someone help me?

The "Core" units in the top section of the AB lists are battalions. An attacking French Infantry Peninsula force adds a sub-commander and 1 veteran infantry and 1 conscript infantry battalion to their "Core" force for a total of seven infantry battalions.
The "Support" units listed in the organic, reserve, and allied sections are brigades. The support brigades are made up of the battalions listed on the following page.
