I started to base my 18mm AB figures on 1.5"x1" thin metal bases but ran out, so am planning to purchase some of the laser cut wooden bases from Litko. I thoguht the .8mm bases (their thinnest) would match up well with what I already have. Does anyone have experience with thier bases, and have any suggestions for which width to select? Do the .8mm ones hold up well, or should I consider the 1.5 or 3mm bases instead?

I use the 3mm bases as I play with 28s and I like the stability they provide.
I base all my 15mm, including AB, on either Litko or GF9 bases (the box o' bases deal at cons).
I have never used the thin Litko bases, just the std 3mm size. I used to base 15mm figs on metal, but I have switched b/c I like a base you can grab, as opposed to the figures!

When I order from Litko, I usually use the 0.8mm, with a magnetised bottom too - it brings it up to about 1.5mm in total, and helps with storage. I usually use 50 Paces bases though, partly because they're based in Canada, partly because the owner is a good bloke, and partly cause they're great.
For those that may be interested in bases, I can't strongly enough recommend 50paces. Their bases are exceptional. They are 2mm thick with the magnet already attached. They are a very hard material that does not chip or scratch when you clean it up with an exacto knife like I always manage to do with wood bases after adding the magnet and trimming it down. They also come with a nicely roughed up surface for better gluing and basing adhesion.
No I am not 50 paces, I have been using him for two years. He is slowly expanding his base sizes as his demand grows. He has primarily what we need for Lasalle. I am just throwing his name in the ring as 1) I always receive great service 2) I want to see more base sizes from him so I can continue to get these awesome bases in the future.
For normal formed infantry I'm using 15mm figs on the 3mm high Litko bases. I'm using two 40x15mm bases with 4 figs on each. Then I'm putting the sticky base magnets under those and put 2 of these finished bases on a 1mm metal 40x30mm base.
It seems to work well so far and the magnets are strong enough so picking up one of the based rows of figs will allow move the whole dual base. The 3mm height allows movement by base vs. picking up the toys by the figures.
This allows the figs to be painted while based in one row, and yet have the normal basing, allowing simple movement. It also allows me some flexibility for use with other rule sets.
