I'm very new to the Lasalle rules and more than a little engrossed with them - and slowly getting a feel for the sequence of gameplay and nuances. I'm yet to actually play a game and just having a good look at the ruleset.
Which is why I've only just now realised that you can't shoot at Artillery. Wow. I can't think of any ruleset for the Napoleonic period I've ever used or come across that didn't let you shoot at the opposing artillery.
I'm guessing the rationale is that given the game is geared toward the point of engagement and the respective forces coming to grips with each other that the point isn't to indulge in any long term counter-battery sniping. That said, I'm not sure I understand the rationale for foot troops not to have the ability to "give them a volley".
Given the Lasalle rules seem to have an affinity for homebrew optional rules, I'm wondering if anyone has come up with anything for shooting at artillery.
