Hi Sam,
Would you mind telling me how many model guns are in a 1809 Austrian artillery battery? I'm trying to work out how many limbers I need to buy and paint up! I haven't used limbers for years, but they do look good!
Thanks,
Conan.

The heavy batteries are 2x 12# bases and a howitzer base. The Lt. Position batteries are 4x 6#s. And the Cavalry batteries are 2x 6#s and a howitzer.
Thanks.

Sam is there any reason one couldnt use a 6 horse limber to show a three gun battery and 2 x 4 horse limbers for a 4 gun battery? That way you take up a little more space on the table.
Sure. The reason I didn't get more specific about limbers, is that I'm aware that half of the players won't use them at all, and of those who do, they'll have a variety of figure sizes. In 28mm, a limber is truly huge, even with only four horses.
Yeah they do take up alot of space. One of the reason I decided to do 15-18mm. Plus I used to do 25mm colonial games at conventions with 600 figures and I needed a handcart to move them all due to the weight. I want to be able to carry my figures in my old age.
