When forming cavalry units from Napoleons Battle stands (15mm), we have set the BW to 1.5". How NB cavalry stands makes up a French (4-stand) unit, assuming they are in "wave" formation? Three NB stands would equal the frontage of a unit at the BW=1.5". Or do you use four NB stands to equal four LaS stands in wave formation, and do not worry about the extra base frontage?

That's a tough one.
That deep NB cav base is hard to fit into Lasalle. Your group is going to have to come up with something that works for you, but beware making the Cav too narrow in frontage, or that will make it more powerful, vis-a-vis infantry and arty.

We just put 3 NB bases together and left it at that for waves to keep the frontage at 3 inches. That still makes the depth at 2 inches. If we used 6 NB bases and place the extra 3 behind then we would have a 4 inch depth. That's allot of figures on large bases. The only way to get around this Kevin is to rebase to the Lasalle standard of 3 Cav figures on a 1.5 by 1 base. What do you recommend Sam for the NB guys???

NB infantry and artillery bases work just fine. The cavalry is a problem, though. I'd suggest re-basing, but.... well, that's sort of like suggesting a root canal.

We use the stands as is, 1x2 inches. One inch base width. Two stands side by side for waves, 2 inch frontage. For abrest, put the two stands head to head for a 4 inch frontage. I know it's silly looking but it saves on rebasing.

Okay. So it seems that having the right unit frontage is more important than having the right number of stands, so I'll agree to using 3 for 4 and 4 for 6.
However, rather than rebase, I'll get new troopers from GAJO and mount them on 1 x 1.5 bases, so I have the option to switch between waves and line formations. :-)

Even if you were to rebase your N.B. mounted cav on to 1.5 inch frontage and 1 inch depth, three per base. Then place em on the table n run em in waves formation, its the same frontage n depth. Im just comming from the point of view that Ill not be putting em into line formation. Now right thats rather limiting, If Im chIm usually charging. And a wide frontage really limits ya. How have you all been doing? Use Cav in line more than waves?
