I have a good start on a French & Brit Peninsula "Army" for Lasalle, but all are single stands...inf are on 1" squares and cav are on 1"x2" Litko bases...i plan on placing everything on 2" Litko sabots...that way I can still play Sharp Practice and Lasalle...do you think this will work okay?

I was going to do a similar thing, in fact I had all my French on Litko basses with Magnets stuck underneath and fexi steel sheets (only 2 Battalions so far). Then I thought, well Skirmish games will always be a side thing, and they don't stick down as nice as I had hoped on the Sabots (you cant pick up the whole stand of 4 figures by gripping one of them, it comes off) so I just thought screw it and went for the 2 x 2 on 40mm basses. They transport easier and are much less fiddly. They dont have to be singular for Sharp Practice anyway (though granted they look better that way, epically in terrain and buildings).
I probably will use singular (maybe round) basses for Skirmish figures/markers.

Im in Texas...looking forward to the rules as well...
The sabots seem to work well for my troops...tested them tonight...I slanted them at various angles and shook them (albiet lightly) and the figs held to the base...Litko Flex Steel Bottoms on Litko magnets on the sabots...hopefully they will work, or Im going to be in deep kimshee...I REALLY do not want to remount...not only due to the trouble, but also due to the skirmish nature of Sharp Practice, though i do agree that you could certainly play SP with stands of four...we did that at first with my collection of AWI figs which are mounted 4 per stand...just like the flexibiltiy of having single figs...
