Here are a couple of pictures form our last Lasalle game. We have the French infantry attacking the English Light Division in some rolling hills just south of Bajadoz. Unfortunately for the French, it was pouring down the preceding day and the English had taken up positions in the ruins of a small border fortress. Thus the attacking French columns advanced very slowly, and their artillery fired in vain at the ruined walls. The English muskets and especially rifles form the 2. Light Brigade KGL were extremely accurate on the other hand. So the French were in for a rough handling. Some acclaim must go to the Portuguese 2. and 5. cacador-regiments as well, they held their ground firmly.
The reserves on both sides were a regiment of light cavalry, but due to the muddy ground conditions, they didn't make any impact at all.
Some pictures:
The English right with 1. and 2. (rifles) light KGL battalions, the 1. lost their flag in the storm the preceding night, and the French objective just behind 3. line battalion KGL as support:

The French centre:

The French centre with Chelsea support:

Just prior to the commencing of French advances (the Wine is Italian, sent from Jerome in Naples):

The soiled and battered French recruits tries to overwhelm the English centre (2. Light KGL, 5. cacadors (and a glimpse of 2. cacadors at the English left) and 3. Line Battalion KGL as second English line. It went awfully bad for the French:

One question: How to attack in muddy conditions ?
