Ho are you going to play a BW for 15mm figures ?
Make up measuring stikcks or just use 1 BW = 2" or maybe 1" and be done with it ?

We're using 40x30mm bases, so 1 base width = 40mm, or 1 1/2".

Yes 40x30mm for us

I'm also loking at 40mm x 30mm. I am however in Sydney, Australia!

Ok , what I meant was what will be your measuring distance for a BW for ranges etc.
So you'll be using increments of 2" ?Posted 2 years ago # -
I don't get the question then - if we're all using 40mm base widths, then we'll be using increments of 1 1/2" (40mm).

Depends Nick, at least using 2" BW increments means using tape measures easily instead of sticks.

Using for 1.5 inches per BW (it's an good approximation for 40mm) is not that much harder than 2" when measuring with a tape. :)
Of course if your in a metric country then 40mm works MUCH better...

nuts, i'm looking forward to building the stick. and going with 43mmX29mm bases. just because i can. also, i like primes.

All my 15s are (actually, were) based for Napoleon's Battles, so I tried playing Lasalle with a 3/4" (2cm) BW. Conveniently, this is half the default 4cm BW, so I could play the La Haie Sainte scenerio on a 2'x2' area a la DBA. (I like small-footprint games.)
Three NB cavalry bases have a frontage of 3", the frontage of four infantry bases, so I made cavalry units three bases instead of four, and large cavalry units four bases. A NB artillery base is the width of two infantry bases, so I halved the number of artillery bases. It worked out rather nicely.

Inch and a half does give a little more wriggle room for manouevre before getting under the guns. But two inches gives you a bit more wriggle room with command. Hmmm what to do?

I will probably make some sticks with 40mm increments.

Hi
I have a lazer cut measurement gauge originally designed for DBR in beautiful 40mm increments. All set!

Hello:
Played our first game using 2 NB stands per base as recommended in the rules, which gives a nice mass effect. Also that way a 'base' is 40mm, so I made a handy measuring stick (not being in a metric country!), as well as a mini stick of 4BW to measure "near the enemy" distance easily!

I am based for NB also. 3/4" for infantry and 1" for cav. The 4 base infantry and 3 base cav sounds like a fix to me, however, I was kind of hoping to do double wide, which would mean 2" sabots for the infantry (a little room on the end, perhaps for unit ID?). I wonder about tournaments in the future, as Sam seems to have written the rules with this in mind. Surely there will need to be a standard for this (not that I have ever been a tournament player outside of the chess world). I hate rebasing.
