   Hi there!

   I'm new to LaSalle (brand spanking new in fact) and I am trying to learn the game in a vacuum (ie: I am the first of my Warmachine addicted cronies to branch out). I had a question to see if I understand force composition and basing correctly.

   The Brit Peninsular Infantry Division is, correct me please if I am incorrect, based on the 4-15mm figs per 20mm base:

   4 Infantry Units (of 4 bases each) = 64 figs (4x4x4)
   1 Elite Infantry Unit (Large - 6 bases) = 24 figs (4x6)
   1 RA BTY (3 bases) 2 cannon w/ crew; 1 how w/crew
   2 SK bases - here I'm thrown..is that per unit (the elites have an SK3?)or 2 for the entire Division?

   As Attacker, I would have an additional:

   2 Infantry Units (of 4 bases each) = 32 figs

   If I took a support choice of Dragoon Reserves (of which I may only take 1)
   that Brigade would be:

   2 Heavy Dragoon units (large - of 6 bases each of 3 figs) = 32 figs. 2x6x3
   1 RHA BTY 2 horse drawn cannon w/ crew, 1 horse drawn how. (3 bases)

   Do I understand correctly?

   Hi Chuck,

   The two skirmisher bases in the Peninsular British army are additional bases you assign to the other infantry units to improve their Skirmisher (SK) rating. For this specific army you would use those two bases to upgrade two of the four regular/small infantry units from SK2 to SK3. You have several options on how to represent skirmsher bases as Sam says in the rules...just keep track of on paper, dice, chits, or-what seems more common and more visually appealing- a couple figures on a small base. I put two figures on a 20mm square base for my armies. So for each unit you would need a number of skirmisher markers.

   Number of figures per bases is very flexible and really more to do with what your budget allows and what you think looks good. I use 40mmx 30mm bases for infantry and cavalry with 8 figures and 3 figures respectively. I use AB miniatures. I think many people using this scale also due 6 figures per infantry base. The way Lasalle works the size of the bases between armies is more important than the number of figures on each base.

   There is a post just before yours with a great example of a French army based very similar to mine for a visual example.
