In one of our games the player took the Arty from the onboard organic support brigade and deployed it out of its sub-commanders command range ( but in the CinC's range). Is this allowable??? making a sort of grande-battery... This could also be used to place cavalry on both wings sourced from an organic support choice.
Deployment fudge or legal??

It's not forbidden. And it's certainly allowable in the midst of a game, as the CinC might ride over and say, "I'm moving this battery..."
If your groups feels that it is abused, you can create a house rule for it.

Thx we knew it was allowable during a game but wondered about deployment given reinforcements must now arrive in sub-commanders range.

I see no reason why a divisional commander coudnt gather all his artillery to focus it for a specific purpose.
Now if it was an army level game I might wonder. Did corps/army commanders ever pinch divisional commanders light/medium guns?
