Was looking at the French Army lists - saw Dragoons in the Penisula section for infantry - would that be dismounted?

That's not how i read it. Just part of the core army list. Look at the Avante Garde and Prussians for other examples

I understand your point, but I heard that the Dragoons had operated as dimounted troops in the Penisula campaign a few times? Just curious if this is what Sam was dipicting in the army list.

Yes, I have some 15mm dismounted French Dragoons. For Lasalle, I plan on just using them as an infantry unit - going to keep it simple. No special rules. However, should a specific scenario with special rules for dismounted dragoons be created, then I'm set.

I bought some old Minifigs (15mm) way back when...and hope to use them as well. The only mod I guess would be the range of their musketoons...don't know much about them, but would think a lil shorter than regular muskets. Thoughts?

Good question regarding whether the Dragoons in the core French Peninsular list are dismounted as I just thought this (Dragoons under the infantry section) to be a typo in the book. I assumed that they would be 'mounted' as there were quite a few mounted dragoons during the Peninsular period.
Therefore, I'd be grateful if you would clarify this Sam. Did you intend for the French Dragoon Core list (Peninsular list) to be dismounted or mounted?

Ah my mistake,
As I didn't have the rulebook handy in my previous post, I didn't have all the facts available. It's clear to see now that the Dragoons units are intended to be mounted (in both core and reserve units)even though they are listed as 'Infantry' in the reserve section.

I got the perry 28mm dragoons and thought what am I going to do with the 8 dismounted dragoons so Ive used the as 2 stands of men which came in really handy because i didnt have to by a fresh box of infantry for my force so I've used them as conscript infantry in the penisular list.Which historiclry they were used as infantry units if there were lack of horses in a campain.Ive tried to make my units as flexible and generic as possible ( that is not tie them down to particular campains) and just use skill markers for the less obvious units. So I now can do empire to hundred days without them looking out of place.

Going to get some for my Frenchies, based as per normal infantry. Always had them in my armies since 25mm Minifigs in the 1970s...
