If a unit voluntarily falls back and
1. interpenetrates a friendly unit,
2. doesn't have enough room to clear that unit
does the falling back unit continue to move backwards until the rearmost unit is cleared?
For example a French line unit charges, the Saxon unit, who has been trading shots with the oncoming french for the past few turns, voluntarily fallsback. Now the French unit is presented with a fresh Saxon line unit. The Saxons present a rolling backward wave of steel and lead.
I see in the rules where involuntary and voluntary fallbacks are treated the same. I also understand that an involuntarily fallback allows for the above situation.
I have been playing that the front unit can voluntarily move backward until the rearmost unit is cleared, but am thinking that I am being "gamey" and not in the good way.
Any thoughts as to whether this is proper or "gamey"
Thanks.
