Great looking troops!
That is quite impressive. I find it hard to believe that they are 10mm, the cavalry were quite detailed.
Very nice work.
John
WOW... that is amazing !!! What minis ( ie what manufacturer ) are you using ?
GHQ
Bought them due to their proportions. Wouldnt recommend their cavalry though. Swords way too thin! Also, redline are looking just as well proportioned now and much cheaper here in the UK. They were not avaliable when i started.
Very nice. So is that two supporting brigades of cavalry?
(BTW- I completely understand your feeling about painting 10mm. A couple of years ago I decided that this was the scale for me, and I bought zillions of them. The first few hundred, I thought: "I love painting these things!" The next few hundred I thought, "Well... only a few thousand left to go..." After a thousand I thought, "Holy crap, do I really have to do two armies at this scale.... What do the Sri Lankans charge for 10mm?" And halfway through that second army, I just wanted to see them run over by a truck. I ended up selling them at a loss.)
I still think, though, that they're the ideal scale for artillery. Big enough to see what's going on, but small enough to be cheap and flexible in terms of space.
Could you explain a bit what you have in the army ? I see some light infantry and some line and some of the units have the mounted officers. I am curious on how you are representing the different alternatives...
I love the look of these armies in 10s, I love them in 15s with the double bases Sam recommends in the book but nobody wants to go that way :) (I am doing double bases in 15 for my south americans but for napoleonics I think I'll go 10s, also they will look great when Blucher comes out..
Francisco
thanks guys,
Nope thats three regiments of heavy cavalry with two horse batterys ie one support. I do have three regiments of hussars too but not enough for two support options. Was going nuts painting Artillery!
Seldon,
Ignore the light infantry, Wurzburgs etc. All are conscripts apart from the grenadiers who will represent the veterns. The army was actually started with "Blucher" in mind, hense the odd variety.
Im not as interested in the smaller scale battles these days. However, the club I'm with seems fairly keen so I made it into a Lasalle army for now.
Just remembered there are only two regiments of Curas! I made up 12 bases in case we played the 1812 list ... getting old ... memory fading ..
Very nice work. Bravo!
It would not be a bad idea to have a separate "Gallery" sub-forum so that people can present their wotk!
