Sam - I have pre-ordered the rules and am busily readying my troops...painting extra figs to add to my 12 man 28mm units, so that I can make up 4 base (16 fig) battalions for my French & British "armies"....very excited about the overall LaSalle "package"... one question or mild concern is what Im reading about the firing....you have mentioned (in the casuailties thread) that units will take 4-6 DISR hits before being removed...in the rules download it mentions that firing units will hit on a 4+... That sounds rather simple...obviously we havent seen the rules, so its not fair to nit pick details when we have no idea about other modifiers, etc...can you eleborate at all on how firing will work...will there be some "meat" there for those of us that come from the "old school" (insert "an_l school" or your own term!) ?

Faron, I really don't want to get into trying to explain pages of game mechanics on the forum, simply because it will become a black hole that I won't escape from!

But in a nutshell: All types of shooting score "Hits". Once all the shooting is done, those hits are then converted to "Disruptions," and that's what you mark on a unit.

The Hit-to-Disruption ratio is a sliding scale. The first DISR is easy to do: it only takes 2 Hits. It gets harder and harder to do them, the more Hits you score.

So that basically: it's easy to do SOME damage by shooting... but it's hard to do Decisive damage by shooting.

Okay, Sam....good enough for me...I figured it was a bit more complex than just rolling a 4+...I will eagerly await the rules and quit badgering you...:>) I just read the download on firing and it only mentioned rolling a 4+ to hit...sorta had me going a bit...thanks for your reply and I certainly understand you not wanting to post specifics at this point....
