Question came up in my last game. Can a unit of infantry (1111 facing up) charged in the rear by a unit of cavalry (AAAA facing up) change formation to square as a reaction?
1111
AAAA
As far as I can see there is no way the infantry can form a square if one of its bases must not move - since it will always end up overlapping the cavalry.
However, if the same unit was charged by two cavalry units in the rear (AAAA and BBBB facing up) it would be able to form square using the 2BW slip and slide exemption.
1111
AABB
AABB
Correct?
