Any Peninsula veterans out there?
As I understand it the bicorne officialy gave way to the shako after 1806.
I beleive that this some time and that some units did not get their shakos until much later, possibly as late as 1811?
Any one come accross any information about units/armies in Bicorne in the early Peninsula or an garrison duty in Europe?
i have an early army and am interested in finding out if I can stretch it out after 1807.

From Osprey 141 "Napoleon's Line infantry":
"..in February 1806 the first line infantry shako was authorised, replacing the bicorn generally by 1807."
however there is also a quote from Suchet (in Spain at this point?) from November 1809:
"the medley is over - there are no more hats, no more white coats" which by hats I assume bicornes.
So from that you might have some justification for the odd figure but not a full army I would think and certainly not as late as 1811.

circular of 27 November 1807:
“Effective immediately, the shako shall replace the bicorn, however those bicorns which are already in use shall be worn until they are completely dilapidated.”
.....
The 1810 report on the muster rolls, administration and accounting of the reserve companies provides us with further important details:
“Article 133 – Clothing: Coat, waistcoat, trousers, overcoat or greatcoat, bicorn or shako. ......
