   Hi
   I have refought 'Gevora', a Lasalle scenario based on the combat of that name (Gévora, Xevora) fought February 19, 1811 in the Peninsular near of Badajoz.
   The French forces under Mortier were: Girard's infantry and Latour-Mauburg's cavalry divisions (9 Battalions/7 Regiments/2 Batteries). In the Spanish side, a more numerous force under Mendizabal comprising De España's, García's and Virues's infantry and Boutron's cavalry divisions along a Portuguese cavalry brigade under Madden (15 Battalions/8 Regiments/3 Batteries).

   It was a funny battle, thanks to the Optional rules: the Spanish and Portuguese cavlary failed to activate for onwards movement almost every time they try it. However, they did go backwards (by falling back) very easily when attacked by the French!
