   Nice book, I had for some reason completly missed the fact that is was a hardcover book, nice suprise. And so far the pages keep in the book.

   Now I'm bulding a French and russian Conquest force

   In the French you have 6 vetran infantery, Now the only way to get legere infantry seem to be if you add elite infantry brigade. but I wonder, I realy love the legere uniform, can I paint two legere and just call them vetran infantry and use them as regular linge, after all even in 1805 the diffrence wasn't much besides the uniform?

   My second question is the russians, now for the attack bonus, it just says 2 infantry, does that mean two musketeers or is it fre to chose between musketeers and jegers?

   I doubt anyone would quibble with a mix of line and light uniforms so long as you DIDN'T also have the elites with specific light batallions on the table at the same time.

   If you just have 'regular' French, then we all know it, so the uniforms are fine (and better looking).

   I'm doing liberation, so hadn't noticed the Russian point in conquest.

   (BTW, looking forward to seeing the pics - its scary how quickly you have improved in painting style)

   you prefer legere uniforms? How odd.

   If this is the case why not just do all of them and call it a light division. Actually did the french have full light divisions?

   It's not that I directly prefer them, tho mabye I do, I just like the odd all blue unit.
   Pluss it gives me a chance to have shakos in another wise all bicorne army.

   Anyway It will only be two out of 8 battalion(if I add the attackers bonus)

   Hi

   Sam does not make any distinction between 'standard' Line or Light Btns, so any uniform is fine. Read the text of the French army list - it will explain it all!

   I certainly wouldnt class all battalions of every legere regiment as elite!

   I havent started on french for lasalle yet, but for other systems i use eagles and the number of greatcoats to show the quality of troops on the table.

   For legere you could also make sure the elite battalions were all in blue regulation trousers and the not so good having a few in campaign trousers just to enhance the different look of different quality troops.

   It sounds like you are approaching Morand's Division in 1806.

   13th Legere
   17, 30, 51, 61 ligne.

   Go for it. you can even pop a couple in white uniforms if you really want to break up the blue a bit.

   Yes, that has been the tempelt, Thanks for the ide about white uniforms, was the uniform more or less the same as the blue and white only with white habit?

   It would only be the 17th (be be 'probably' accurate)in white

   they had scarlet/red turnbacks, cuffs etc

   but otherwise close enough to the same as the blue, yes

    Thanks, good thing you mentioned red facings, as I got a pic from Napoleons finest
    And it good blue facings(tho it was a Voltigeurs)

    One question, is the "cross" on the chest blue or red? on the pic of the Voltigeur it was blue,

    I don't know what it's called, but it's white on the regular uniforms
