I've looked through the rules several times and can't find anything; other than the reference on page 45 regarding different elevations and range brackets, is there a rule that governs how hills figure into line of sight/visibility? I'm familiar with other systems that use the concept of a "dead zone" behind the slope of a hill, so maybe I'm looking for soemthing that isn't there. Any help?

There is no "dead zone" concept, no.
I generally shy away from that, since people's terrain pieces are so different. Some are gentle slopes, and thus quite literal WYSIWYG where you don't need a rule like that. Others use the "plateau" style pieces where it's impossible to tell where a crest is, and so on.

OK, so just to be clear, there's no impact on Line of Sight for a unit on a hill trying to "spot" a unit at a different elevation?

Correct.

Got it - thanks.
BTW, great game system. I've tried a number of Napoleonic rules, and this definitely has the best feel. Also, I'm spending my time thinking about tactics and enjoying the game, not burying my head in the rules. Thanks again!
