Hi Sam,
I was wondering if the above list was derived from a specific OOB. It is the next Lasalle army I am planning to build and I like to pick the units for a division that have some historical basis.
Thanks,
John
Hi Sam,

No, it's my amalgamation of the huge variety of AG "divisions" in the 1809 army. Some of them were tiny (one BN, one cav RGT, and one battery), some were big, and in many cases they'd either been detached, or had detachments added to them. Sometimes they had Uhlans, sometimes Hussars, and sometimes Cheveauxlegers attached. There was no hard-and-fast rule that they had Grenzers, or even Jägers, although sometimes they had two Jäger BNs (like Vecsey's not-called-as-such-Avant-Garde division at Eggmühl.)
The AG division is my favorite army list in the game, but I fully concede that it's the "least historical" list because the historical record - as so often happens - just won't sit still!
Thanks Sam,
I think I will use the AG Division Nordmann at Wagram as a basis for the Lasalle Austrian AG, with the Uhlans substituting for a Hussar regiment. I have already painted IR4, but I will also substitute an Hungarian regiment for one of the German regiments.
I am also thinking of going to 8 stands for some of the line infantry battalions, any thoughts on this?
John
Well, an 8 base unit would be pretty fearsome in game terms. I suspect your opponent wouldn't be a fan of that modification!
Maybe just one!!!!!!!
John
Speaking of oversize units (8 stands of Austrians, eek!), what about undersized? It could only be three stands and that would make it fragile, but there certainly units running around that came in pretty low. Anybody tried using them?

Here is what I have come up with, it has all the units as required by the Lasalle Austrian Army Builder with the Core Unit in ATTACK mode and a Landwehr Organic unit, with 3 subcommanders. Now all I have to do is paint the figures. More on my blog:

Cool. And it's Nordmann, too. One of the livelier Austrian officers.
But by "BDE" I assume you really mean "battalion" ?
No I mean Brigade, I think I have it right. The force is 1 core (with the attack bonus) and 1 organic unit. I believe this adds up to 3 subcommanders (3 brigades) and 1 CinC Nordman.
So 6 infantry battalions (5 large), 2 large cavalry regiments and 1 cavalry bty in the Core Avantgarde (2 Brigades=2 Subcommanders/Meyer and Froehlich) Unit and 6 regularly sized infantry battalions and 1 Bde Bty in the Organic Landwehr Unit (1Bde/Vecsey).
Anyway, I hope I have it right.
