Out of curiosity, Lind, where do you live?
I'm assuming most people will get theirs on Monday/Tuesday.

I'm in the mood to comlplain. My brother caught the flu and three days later, October 11, I came down with a virus. About a week later I was sent for a Film. Pneumonia. Three 10 day course of two antibiotics and I had a clean film. I woke up Thursday morning deaf in my Right ear. A trip to the ENT specialist Friday, and I am now on an antiviral and prednisone, a treatment that is 60% effective. My Dog has a foot infection rhat I have to soak twive a day, and I need the plumber to come out tomorrow and replace a leaky line.
Situatio Normal All F__ked Up.
Could have used something encouraging in the mail box besides bills.
No new Miniatures for this one. The gnomes of War (15mm Essex) will have to do the fighting, a few 1813, French, Prussian, and Russin, plenty of 1815 French, British (and all their allies), and Prussians and 1798 French and Austrians for Rivoli. Some Dixon 25s French (with a Foundry Napoleon) and Ottomans for Acre or Aboukir.

Dang! I thought it might be here today. Well, at least my life isn't as fouled up as poor ol' Roger's. heh
Although. Spent $700 on the dog (torn up leg) this week and still don't have any models. meh

You lucky sod (Lind, not petey). I'm looking forward to getting mine - my jagers are almost done, then I might move onto some grenzers.

Consoling myself by watching the rest of the PBS biography of our old friend, Bonaparte.

Sam,
I am in Hilliard, Ohio, west side of Columbus. Did Mark mail the books from Cincinnati? If so, that would explain why I got mine so quickly.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Okay, that's the answer, yes.
Strange as it may seem, Lind.... Out of nearly 800 copies pre-ordered, you appear to be the only guy in the world to have gotten it. (Even the two cases that *I* ordered for my private stash haven't arrived yet.)

Great to hear they are being shipped, I hope to receive mine soon. Most of the time, shipping from the States is fairly quick! So I have good hopes it will arrive here (in the Netherlands) this week.
I am greatly looking forward to it!Posted 2 years ago # -
Sam,
Since I am the only person with the rulebook, I will make sure that all mailed copies are confiscated, the warehouse is burnt down, Sam's computer corrupted, etc. My ransom demand will be millions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On a more serious note, I have been lightly reading through the rules today and Sam and the testers really outdid themselves. Every bit worth the wait.
Now, my personal dilemma. I'm not sure whether or not to do 28mm Old Glory painted as a starting point for my armies, or wait for the 15mm AB lists.
Lind

Without a doubt 28mm.

The AB lists are out aren't they? I'm sure someone posted a link to them a while ago.

My rulebook arrived today. I have opened the boom three times and the binding has begun to split. Anyone else have this issue?
Other than this it is a beautiful tome.
Cheers,
BrianPosted 2 years ago # -
I think he means, "book".
Posted 2 years ago # -
Hmm. We had a few copies going around at Fall In, and dozens of guys around table were using the book, laying it flat, etc. The bindings seemed fine, so perhaps you got a dud. If it's really falling apart, send me an email, and we can exchange it.

Got my copy today as did two of my friends (the others need to catch up n order!)and the rules look great. No we havent got in a game yet, but still some impressions...
OK we have been long time Naps Batts players, and so everythign is based for that. two stands per La Salle base for Inf, OK. Kiinda a WOW thinking ya need 80 bases for the French 1813-1814 core force. Im cool with cav bases, just once ya realize ya just really need three NB cav bases for a regular sized cav unit. Just run em around in 'waves' formation (what Id would do anyway). No those 'large' sized Cav units, well ya need two cav figures on a half inch front, two inch depth to make your unit in waves with four NB cav bases. If ya just HAVE to run in 'Abreast' cut your bases in half, have a bunch of Cav on 1 by 1 inch bases with two on .5 by 1 inch bases.
So enough on that, as for the fighting...
I got a smile to see that 'Pin n Punch' is alive n well. Hit a line with a Inf unit on one end and Cav on the other seem slike some thing fun to try.
The presentation is excellent. Like the Field of Glory rules. NOT like the Flames of War rules (that I cut apart n now have in a three ring binder).
Im allready thinkin' of a 7 yers war variation, but more on that later...Posted 2 years ago # -
Got mine on Monday as well....very nice...quite excited...painting 28's like a mad man to round out my collection....faron.

I can hear again. But no rules yet. Groan.

I came home to see a book-sized parcel waiting for me and hoped it was Lasalle having appeared amazingly quickly (in Canada), but it turned out to be one of the presents I'd ordered for my wife's birthday. Hmph.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Yep. Still hasn't made it to the West Coast yet, either. Hopefully tomorrow. huzzah
Posted 2 years ago # -
Yes, hopefully tomorrow as well. As a retailer of the rules I hope they get here soon. BTW, were they shipped USPS or UPS?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Here in Sydney, Australia ... waiting ... waiting!
Posted 2 years ago # -
The USPS appears to have pretty much stopped of late - I have 4-5 parcels pending. I guess it gives me more painting time!

Happy happy day (rain? what rain?) here in Washington State. I have Lasalle in my hands. Congratulations, Sam, on a beautiful product. I can't wait to get a few games under my belt, though I don't even have any models yet.
Question/suggestion. Is permitted to photocopy the quick reference sheets at the back of the book for multiple players? If not, would it be a better idea to link them to this site so that people could download/print them as needed? If not, no worries. I'll have no problem telling people, "get your own d@#ned book, you cheapskate!"

Hi
Sam has posted a download of the QRS on this site! So now I have the QRS but still awaiting the rules.....
Have any overseas pre-orders been received buy their lucky owners as yet?
regards
Stephen

Got mine on Monday and am playing first game on the morrow against my brother. Empire French Infantry Division vs. Austrian Infantry Division, both sides with one cuirassiers support (that's all I have painted). Huzzah! Huzzah! Vive L'Empereur et Bonsoir!
