I recently bought Lorenzo Sartori's Impetus rules. They were so well produced that I decided to subscribe to his quarterly wargaming publication Dadi & Piombo (Dice & Lead). This is a dual language publication in both Italian and English side by side on the same page, with lots of pretty pictures as found in Wargames Illustrated.
My first issue No 42 arrived today. I was surprised to find reviews for RtoE, Black Powder, Field of Battle, Le Feu Sacre III and Lasalle. The former were lumped into one review but Lasalle was given its own separate review because "We excluded Lasalle from this test. Lasalle may be the most striking phenomenon in the Napoleonic wargaming world in recent months...... the impact that Sam Mustapha's game latest game is having on the Napoleonic wargaming world led the editor to suggest that the rules deserve an in depth study of their own."
The review is very positive and concludes with "Another thing that leads to our favourable judgement about Sam's latest release is the great possibility of offering a perfect basis for the management of tournaments and events, a little bit like with Osprey's Field of Glory........ In conclusion, therefore, a very positive opinion with the hope that you too, will find this game the best solution for all your Napoleonic games."
They also say nice things about Grand Armee. I have a copy and really must get round to trying them sometime.
