Hi Lads...after two days at the Sheffield Triples I can safely say Lasalle seems to be getting more and more popular in the UK....quite a few Napoleonic enthusiasts came by and told us that lasalle was being used by most of them now after either playing Shako or General de Brigade...their was strong support for gaming in 15mm and Timecast who supply 15mm Old Glory and Battle honours told us that they had good sales for their 15mm range:)
One of the lads who came actually managed to find a copy for sale and he seemed impressed with the smooth mechanics of the game and the ease of the Army builder for new comers to Napoleonic gaming....I know you get the odd:) Napoleonic enthusiast berating the not quite right Flags/uniforms/orders of battle but for me if Napoleonics wants to attract more younger players then really its about the fun of gaming...if we don't attract more younger players then we will become just like the dinosaurs extinct:(
The Hougoumont demo as grown from a 6x6 board to a now 8x6...the next stage will be adding La Hay Sainte (the trouble is adding another 2x6 board just means we have to paint more bleedin soldiers:) and then by the time the Waterloo Anniversary comes along a Lasalle Waterloo demo will be doing the shows in the UK (it would be good to take it round a few schools to show the kids what wargaming and History is all about:))
cheers Paul:)
