   Lasalle Tournament

   Start Time: 10:00 AM
   Number of Players: 12

   The I-95 Gamers will host a Lasalle Tournament, Saturday 10 July 2010, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

   The tournament will begin at 1000 on Saturday and go for three three-hour rounds. Information and announcements regarding this event will be posted to the Lasalle website forum - http://www.sammustafa.com . Armies may come from any Theatre listing and one support choice. Players are encouraged to bring two support choices and may select ONE from those two choices for each round after seeing what army list their opponent will use. Only one support choice will appear on the table each round and both should be identified in your request to play. The standard base width for the event is 1.5”/40mm..

   Prizes will be awarded for First and Second Place, Best Sportsman, and Best Painted Army, as well as perhaps some other items “pour encourager les autres”. Sponsors for this event include Eureka Miniatures; Battlefront/Gale Force Nine; Eagle & Empire Hobby Shop, Alexandria, VA.

   Please send your request to play and army rosters/support choices to Joe Moore at joemoore78@aol.com. Registration will open at 12:00 PM EST today, 12 April 2010. Please send all requests to play to my e-mail address, not this site. We will maintain a waiting list for this event and endeavor to notify the waiting list of availability as soon as possible.

   Good luck with this... Rest assured come fall in (or perhaps earlier, wink, wink) we in SW Ohio will be making the trip. Please take tons of pictures!

   For future reference, how are you doing terrain? Pre-set tables per the book, then allowing players to customize?

   What size are you setting Objectives as?

   Great news Joe,

   If I may suggest a slight change in format. Extending the time till 8 PM allowing either a hour break between the second and third slot for dinner and dealer room or a 30 minute break between slots.

   Madcam/Tom,
   Thanks for the encouragement! I plan to do six tables from the 12 in the book and then allow some customization. As I read the objectives section, it is intended to be a point or small area, so perhaps something small and circular fits the bill best. Not all scenarios will necessarily have an objective, but at least one will.
   Our intent is to go 2.5 hours per round and have a 30 minute brek between each. We have the space all evening so if need be we can extend a round or establish and hour for dinner. We are also finishing early enough that folks ought to be able to get out for something to eat following the event if we stay on the time line. That doesn't allow for visiting the dealer area, but there perhaps time on the previous or following day of the convention if you don't finish a round early.
   Eric should have his camera along, so we ought to be well documented. I'll talk to Dave Taylor from Wargames Illustrated about taking several as well for the magazine.

   So far, I have two. Not bad, but a bit slow. I think we will pick up once the PEL comes on line and we get some broad coverage.

    Joe there are questions on other forums about figure scale. Are you saying any scale so long as the frontage is 40mm?

    We are over half full now for the event and HMGS has yet to publish the PEL on the internet. I suspect once that occurs we'll be full soon after.

    Very good to see this is working out!

    Really want to participate, yet getting a full army painted including a support choice is unlikely by then. I am intending to be there anyway if at all possible, and looking forward to checking in with this event.

    I've got several buddies with figures they would gladly let me use and you borrow for the day. Why not register now, start painting (or continue), and what you don't get done, I'llsecure the balace for you to use and paticipate?

    All,
    Will be arriving early Friday morning at King of Prussia and will be at the tournament site at about 0900 on Saturday to set up. Looking forward to it! I've even adapted a scenario from the standard for the third round! See everyone there!

    Joe had a lot of last-minute cancellations. In the end there were only 5 people. I believe the winner was the Austrian Avant-Garde army?

    One thing that was really nice, though, was that in the midst of the games, they announced that Lasalle had won the "Best Miniatures Rules" award, so we got to stick the trophy in the middle of the battlefield, in all its glory.

    Sorry to hear about drops. I expect that we will run a Lasalle event in Louisville, Kentucky sometime this year. I'm pretty sure we could get about a dozen "regional" players to show and if those numbres look strong enough, then perhaps players from futher away may be encouraged to attend.

    We've run some very successful 40+ Flames of War tournamnets in the past, so hopefully we could apply our experience from them to a Lasalle event.
