Is anyone aware of a local retailer in the San Antonio area that might be carrying La Salle? My local retailer at home has still not stocked it and I will be here for most of the next 6 to 8 weeks.
Any suggestions for a good game store would also be appreciated.

Dragon's Lair should be ordering about 6 copies or so. They may be in. Ask for Richard when calling the store. They are on the corner of Fredricksburg Rd. and Medical Drive.
Normally I would recommend Dibble's Hobbies but I am not sure they order things quickly anymore. I am friends with the owners and they stock Old Glory but not Napoleonics right now. They have GW and lots of modeling supplies though. You will also find good support for ancients and medievals. Jeff Chladek was huge into gaming but not since getting married about 12 years or so ago. He has a large collection of ACW, Napoleonics and Ancients.

I am one of the Lasalle players mentioned above. There are about 5 of us with heavy interest and probably about 5 or 6 more that may pick it up too. We had about 4 come and watch 2 weeks ago at Dragon's Lair. Mark Cole plays Napoleonics too but he was playing the Buck Surdu set and I am not sure he will jump systems. He plays mostly FOW now. If I ever get off my duff and finish painting my forces, I will be playing FOW too. I do play Field of Glory and have been contemplating trying to get more folks playing locally.

Oh, by the way, most of the guys have plenty of figures for Lasalle in San Antonio. It might behoove you to see what nationalities they have if you haven't decided on an army yet. I am doing Prussians first. Will either do British or minor states next (German states, Duchy of Warsaw and Italians are on my to do list) Mike Gomez has French and allies in 15mm and a lot in 25mm too. Ed Young has some Prussians and some others in 15mm and quite a lot in 25mm.
David Beeson is doing Brunswick and British first I believe. There are quite a few players in the area that have big collections and time will tell if they will try Lasalle.

Allen Barton here. Lived there several years ago. Was around back when Skye Games (I think that was what it was called) was around. I used to have trips to SA and used to get a game in once/twice a year at Dragon's Lair. I remember when Dibble's used to have a pretty good stock. Is the store over at the flea market still open on weekends? Say hey to Ed for me, we were over at Randolph together.

Sky Games was the name (but you may be right on the spelling as I think it was one of the guy's last names). Closer to my neck of the woods too as I lived off of O'Conner and 1604 then. I am near Bulverde and Evans now. First I have heard about a flea market store. Was this at the Eisenhower Road Flea Market or somewhere else? Let me know and I will ask around. Typically the flea market guys either make and open up a brick and mortar store or fold after no more than a couple of years in my experience. But hey, the monetary risk is a lot lower. Would love to open a store myself some day but I am afraid that will be a second career after retirement.

I lived off O'Conner and 35. And I think you shot me down a couple times in HA. The flea market was after I left, so not sure.
What size of bases are you guys using? 40x??? For CMD/SK?

We are using 40mm wide with 20 deep for infanty (at least this is what Gomez has and what they are doing in Austin) 30 deep for cavalry and 40 deep for artillery. I am leaning towards 15mm deep so that I can stack them 2 deep in the future per Sam's advice in the rules section. I don't want to go the 8 infantry per stand right now as I would rather get something fielded and playable before investing the extra time in painting. I think Mike Gomez has 3 infantry per stand and 2 cavalry per stand. I think the Austin group might be going with 4 infantry per stand and I am not sure about the cavalry.

I appreciate all the feedback. I didn't find Dibble's. Which part of town is it? I am working up at the north end of 281.
