As I understand it a destroyed unit(by fire/melee) has no effect on units behind...which means if you shoot to death a frontal unit you can receive a "fresh" volley from the one behind it when they return volley...which seems strange..almost not worth volleying in some cases as you get back more than you can dish-out. Was wondering if this revealing fire was meant to happen???

Yes, it's intentional, although I can see an argument for not removing any targets until after all shooting has been done. The reason we haven't done that, is that it requires an additional marker or reminder of some sort, so that "Dead Men Don't Shoot."

I dont see an issue here...merely knock over a stand to remind you the unit is dead....take off dead units after all shooting... but understand you want to keep the book-keeping/markers to a minimum.
