On page 70, its says you can move from 1 town base to another adjacent one while deployed in it, "if it is not near the enemy, nor moving near the enemy."
And yet the example below says unit A can move to the town base to its right, even though theres an enemy unit on the diagonal town base. This is well within the 4 BW "near the enemy" rule.
How is this supposed to work?

I am not the 'grand fromage' but I suppose that they can be not considered as being near the enemy because of the interspect nature of the terrain: streets, houses, gardens, walls....

I don't see the passage you're referring to. The only thing I see on p.70 in reference to this question is:
"An infantry unit in Deployed(Town) formation may move to one adjacent, unoccupied town base in its activity phase. It remains Deployed upon arrival in the new town base. "
What Scruff is missing is the errata to the "Leaving the Town Base: from Deployed" rule.
As printed the rule reads "An infantry unit in Deployed (Town) formation may move to one adjacent, unoccupied town base in its activity phase, if it is not near the enemy, nor moving near the enemy."
The errata changes the rule to read "An infantry unit in Deployed (Town) formation may move to one adjacent, unoccupied town base in its activity phase." That makes the example at the bottom of page 70 correct.
Which begs the question--any intent for a second print run that incorporates the errata?
