I've been painting a pair of armies for the mid/late Peninsular in 28s: http://www.flickr.com/photos/46755253@N00/sets/72157621701076617/
Using my infantry seems easy-peasy. Each of my battalions is 16 figures, split into 2x2 on four 40x30 bases.
Less easy for my guns and cavalry. Currently I have two guns plus crew per battery. Each gun is on a 80x60 base - i.e. the same area as an infantry battalion in column of 2x2 bases.
Cavalry is also two bases per regiment, with three figures per 80x60 base.
Can anyone offer me advice on converting these to Lasalle units? Would it be best to pretend each of my 80x60 bases is really 40x60? Or should I just use [say] double size units for art and cav - I can do this, having cleverly painted units as pairs and triples to allow 16/24/32/48s and 6/12 etc.
