Hi
I have finished my first Lasalle game. It was a historical scenario between French and Prussians in 1813 and both sides are not balanced. Really in this occasion, the Prussians outnumbered the French. The Scenario is posted in the Wiki section.
I have found Lasalle very easy to play, and the sequence of play really forces you to consider all the actions of your opponent, because his first actions will always be to counteract your aggressive movements. Moreover, this sequence of play leads to an almost continuous narrative, in which the actions of both sides are intermingled.
I also used some 'poetic licences'. The first was a Prussian one-gun battery, that added its two dice to the fire of its accompanying battalions, à la 'battalion gun'. The result was irrelevant in terms of additional losses caused.
The second non-reglamentary item was a Prussian under strength -1 element- cavalry unit (squadron?) that was allowed to charge (another poetic licence). It resulted an one-shot gun becuase I allowed they to countercharge the French in order to halve their combat dice. However, the trick failed miserably because the Prussians lose the combat and both units (cavalry and infantry) suffered 1DISR and the cavalry was removed.
Summarizing, it was a very funny game with a long duration because of the great number of units in the table, and an un-certain result with the fight becoming a running retreat. At last the Prussians won, because the French reached their Break Level at turn 26, with a 5-dice throw of 12.
I'll write a more detailed AAR. Until then, you can see a summary at
