Just bought the rules and still reading through them. So far they look good and I'm looking forward to playing. But I had a question about the battalion sizes. 'Small' are 4 stands and 'Large are 6 stands. I've got about a zillion 15mm Napoleonics and all my French are based with 6 stands per battalion (1 Grenadier, 1 Voltigeur, 4 Fusilier) and I kind of like them that way. Would it dramatically change the game, do you think, if 'Small' battalions were bumped up to 6 stands and 'Large' battalions were bumped to 8? Would the game still work? Just wondering.

Mechanics wise, treating units as 6 and 8 bases would change the game, although how much is not obvious - units would have more dice for shooting and melee, but could take more hits before dying. My gut feeling is it would be radically different.
Personally I would just treat your 6 stand units as if they had 4 bases and the 8 stand units as if they had 6 bases for all game mechanics. There are only a couple of minor times when the game actually uses the bases themselves (blocked firing for instance) - generally the number of bases is not important except to remind you how many dice you get or DISR you take to break.
You would just need to remember that small units fire with 4 dice, start combat with 8 dice, and die on the 4th DISR, and large units with 6/6/6. If in column you get half normal dice for shooting. And so on.
Might be easiest to try a game or two with the correct number of bases to get the concepts in place, then use whatever number of bases you want keeping the dice/DISR unchanged.
Of course, you and your opponent will need to come to some understanding if your units are different sizes. But Lasalle seems pretty forgiving.

That should be large units with 6/12/6, i.e. 12 dice base for combat.

If you and your opponent have the figures i see no reason why you couldn't treat 6 x based units as Small and 8 x based units as Large.
You'd probably need to game on at least an 8x6' table and personally i'd still stick to the RB for shooting and combat mechanics ie your Small Units in Line would still fire with only 4 dice (ignoring skirmishers), need only four Disruptions to Break etc
It would look great!
