A bit late - but!

(the following have been in progress for a couple of years but finally getting some decisive progress).

All 28mm Perry (& a little Foundry) for Quatre Bras (& Waterloo/100 Days).

British/Hanoverian - Picton's 2 Brit Bdes + a Lt Cav Bde + Arty [+ Alten's Div WIP]
Dutch/Belgian/Nassau - Perponcher's DB & Nassau Bdes + Arty
Brunswick Corps - All 8 Inf, 2 Cav, 2 Arty Btys
French - 1 Inf Bde of II Corps + Cuirassier Bde [More Inf + Arty WIP]

Infantry & Cavalry all on 50/50 basing, Artillery on 50/50-100 (still to conclude basing of Arty).

P.S. What are the likely upcoming NZ Lasalle Convention/Tournament events, if any, for the remainder of 2011?

Kelly Gay has also volunteered to organise a Lasalle tourney as part of this years Panzerschreck tournament on July23/24 in Palmy North - dependent on interest of course.

OK - Cheers Guys.

What has been resolved with basing standards since it seems everyone has gone off and done their own thing rather than follow the recommended book standard and there are by the sounds of it about 4-5 different standards (for 28mm at least) being implemented within a relatively small pool of players?

Hi Mycenius,

In Wellington we have gone with 50mm = 1 BW.
Means nothing it too squished up and the bases give some room for those that are good with the modelling side to do some nice stuff with there Art batteries.

Would be keen to drift along to Panzerschreck again, any idea of numbers Evan?

Hey Prinney - yeah I was alluding to though that in the first half of the thread half the Wellington/Palmy/Manawatu/etc guys seem to all be doing different things for 28mm in addition to the remainder doing the suggested 50x50 - and almost all seem to be starting from scratch or rebasing (not simply using an old army with existing basing). There's been similar discussions elsewhere as well with all different basing schemes for 28mm Lasalle in NZ... :-)

Or has everyone standardised on the 50x50 since all the basing discussion mid-last year?

I wont say everyone... but the guys that were at Call to Arms and Napcon are using 50 x 50

I forgot to say thanks for the response. From feedback I've had elsewhere as well it seems despite the early responses in this thread above, near everyone seems to have steadily moved to the 'rules recommended' size (at least for 28mm figs anyway) of 50 x 50. Which is good to hear as it can only help assist & increase cross pollination of players! :-)

Incidentally - is there any further new on Napoleonics at NICon in Hamilton? There is nothing on their site other than the same info that was in a flyer they distributed at BattleCry about 3 weeks ago: http://www.t3gc.org.nz/upcoming-events/nicon-2010

FWIW I asked Kelly at the start of the week what was happening with Panzerschreck and whether anything Napoleonic was gonna eventuate - he indicated there hadn't been much interest to date... If something Lasalle happens at NICon in Hamilton, and goes okay, it would go a long way to motivate me to be interested in driving down to Palmerston North for a Lasalle event in July if something significant does eventuate for Panzerschreck...

Anyone had any news from Hamilton on NICon and whether Lasalle will be present?

They will be playing a set of rules called "1st Volley" (15mm).

I'm interested in trooping up to Palmy for Lasalle. Failing that, I hope that Lasalle is on again for Call-to-Arms in Wellington in August this year.

For Call-to-Arms I have offered to run it.

Hope we can get last years guys and maybe a few more to join in. I have some ideas to mix it up some :)

Id be keen on Panzershreck as well, will give me a target to get my Russians all done.

Trouble with CTA is it's a long way to lug a 28mm army from Auckland unless you drive - in which case it's just an even longer trip full stop!

:-(

Assuming you'd be doing 28mm and not just the Hobbit scale to start with of course...!

I'm planning on being at PzShreck. And the plan is to have my 28mm army finished assuming that's the scale on offer (Otherwise I'm going to have to borrow someones 15s)

Cool. I'm a bit peeved there's no Lasalle at NICon actually - I was looking forward to it as a potential trial run - being a late starter (due to unforeseen events last year) it'd have been nice to get a few 'competition games' under the belt close to home - my initial Lasalle experiences are all positive but not sure how enjoyable it'll be in a 'tournament' environment (I won't use the 'C' word)... And Palmy or Welly is a long haul from Jafa land with 28mm figs for a weekend 'cold turkey'... ;-)

But would be keen to come down to Palmy in July if there are enough people keen to do 28mm Lasalle then? And it's not one of these silly events where you have to pack up at 2pm on the Sunday so only get 3 games rather than 4 in, etc...

I'm currently painting up a 15mm Polish Army.

I'd be keen for Panzershreck if I can get my army painted in time. At least in the hall you're out of the wind.

P.S. There was some discussion at the AWC on Sunday about maybe doing Lasalle "Demo" Games at NICon if 4-6 people were keen?

Well if we can find a couple of other players ASAP maybe we can get a pair of 'Demonstration Game Tables" at NICon and play a small 28mm 'friendly round robin' or some scenario games or something... :-) But probably need to sort it out by Easter - YKW... ;-)
