As a newbie to the period - but someone who has been sufficiently interested to pre-order the rules, I have a question around point based non historical scenarios.
Are these all straight up fights, or will there be some (either in the book or wiki) based on objectives - such as holding a terrain piece at the end of a battle or having troops escape the table etc.
Just wondered what what the options were in the regard.

There are no "points" in Lasalle. Armies are assembled by picking a core list, and then choosing supporting brigades. You don't get a choice in the unit composition within those brigades... but you do have a lot of choices for what kind of supporting brigades you choose.
There is a scenario generation mechanism that is modified by the character of your army list. Some armies more naturally are prone to attack, others to defend. You can make your choice, but if you choose against your army's "nature," you might get overruled. (A French infantry division tends to be an attacker, for example, but not always.)
The attacker places an objective marker, which the defender can adjust to a certain degree. The objective marker has an effect upon the defending army's morale. If he loses his objective, it triggers morale problems and makes it more likely that he will break.
Of course, he might just break anyway, if the attacker has given him a sound thrashing. A scenario can always be just a toe-to-toe slugging match. It depends upon the players, their armies, the terrain, and how they set up.

Hi Nick, yep that's me and I have added something on that forum. I'm thinking of taking the plunge into this period...I may be a rare gamer, having little detailed knowledge of this period.
The info we have so far for these rules looks very interesting, I guess we'll learn more in a month or so when the rules appear on the door step. :)

Another option for scenarios for people is to go back to our gaming roots over and above pick up games I intend to play, I have been dusting off my old Charles Grant scenario nbooks I have a feeling these are going to play very well with Lasalle as the rules.
