Just to be obstinate, heretical and totally disregard all advice at playing "non-standard" games (ie., from the army builder-random game generator system), we continued tweaking our "No Room at the Inn" scenario and played our second game of Lasalle today. Very enjoyable experience. The table width made all of the difference. We tried to nitpick the system but couldnt. Everything went off perfectly with the rules, flow, etc.. Previous concerns about weak artillery seemed to go away as bounce thru fire took a moderate and reasonable toll on advancing troops. All mechanics work well and results seemed reasonable. Most enjoyable!
