Question. Can you take one of the Prussian Skirmish Stands, add it to a Landwher battalion, making that a SK2 unit...then turn that SK2 unit into a Irregular Unit or 4 individual stands to attach to other battalions? I imagion it would be like "clouds" of many skirmishers.

Short answer as I understand it is no.
A unit has to be inherently SK2 to be capable of forming irregular order.

p74 says "may designate any of his SK2 or SK3 infantry as Irregular". On the other hand, p16 says "units with an inherent SK value of 2 or 3 may be broken down entirely into SK bases".
Since "inherent" is used in one place but not the other, it suggests to me they are different.
I would argue that a SK2 unit created by adding SK bases, can be designated as Irregular, but not be broken down into SK bases.

I know this doesn't have much to do with the lasales list but thought you might find this interesting.Buts its helped me to understand the landwehr when i made a prussian army for another rules system I have an 1/72 pussian army that dosent get used now because my opponent moved away. Hoping to meet a lasales enthusiast with 1/72 models and I rebase them. But i have a large prussian army.
Landwehr - The Prussian Landwehr (militia) was hurriedly raised in 1813 in an effort to bring all available manpower to bear against the French occupation and becuase Napoleon had put restrictions on the size of their army By Summer 1813, 120,000 men had been recruited into the Landwehr and named after different areas in Prussia - consisting of almost half the strength of the Prussian army. Prussian commanders were initially skeptical about the value of the Landwehr, but what the troops lacked for in equipment, they made up for in spirit and generally having larger units before battles. By the end of 1813, battle hardened and equipped with captured French weapons, the Landwehr was considered the equal of the line regiments. During the 100 days' campaign, each Prussian infantry brigade consisted of 2 line and 1 Landwehr regiment.

Cam , p74 on the PDF rules - so revised version- says
Those units with inherent SK2 or SK3 are effectively
“light-capable” infantry, and can thus be broken down into
additional skirmish basesSame page a few later
Prior to the game, as a player sets up his army, he may designate
any of his inherently SK2 or SK3 infantry as Irregular.Doing
so replaces the unit with an irregular infantry unit of the same
size (small or large),Inherent is used in both instances, so - as pgbldwn pointed- it seems a SK2 unit created by adding SK bases, can not be designated as Irregular, nor broken down into SK bases

Really? - the revised PDF rules are not the same as the hardcover!
p74 of the book does not have the word "inherently" in that para you quoted. I don't see it added in the Errata. Has that change been made somewhere?
I hope the PDF does not have wording changes not in the errata - that would be very confusing in tournaments.
