Sam, I liked the rules and plan on getting a set, but I got one small quibble. The attacking cav that loses a fight big time, by two to one, takes one disruption, whereas the winning defensive cav unit also takes one hit. On the other hand a 2 to 1 losing defensive cav unit is wiped off the table. Winning attacking cav takes one hit. I know you want the ebb and flow of a cav combat, but shouldn't the 2 to 1 losing attacker take more disruption?

If the combat is Inconclusive, then there's not much difference between winning and losing. Some giving of ground - assuming your formation and terrain permits. That's it.
If the combat is Decisive, though, as you indicate, then "Losing" means you broke, whereas "Winning" means "dispirited and won't continue the attack."
I can't think of too many examples in which a unit was broken by attacking. One can quibble about sequence, obviously, but it seems to me that a defender had to actually counterattack in some way, or DO something to *break* an attacker. At Auerstädt a number of Prussian cavalry units were broken when they charged French squares, but that's also because French artillery poured canister into them as they tried to reform. Plenty of attackers got handed the old volley-and-bayonet and then broke... but again that represents some sort of game action: (Shooting, Counterattack, etc.)
All cavalry - winning or losing - takes 1DISR from a combat no matter what. By doing this, we don't need a "Blown" cavalry or "Fatigue" rule. Since nobody can charge when they're maxxed-out on DISRs, it forces them to pull back... Or risk getting broken by somebody fresh who attacks them.

I understand what you're saying. I think that a attacking cav unit that gets beat like a red-headed stepchild(Decisive) and recieves the same amount of DISR as the winner just ain't right. They shouldn't take enough to break ,unless they are already close to break, but they should take more than the winner. Say attacking cav take 2 DISR's when beaten Decisively. That would make mah sensibilites feel better. :)
