According to the rules you can separate a unit with 3 or more skirmish valuein 4 or 6 stans of skirmishers to put their into other units. But worth it?.
Opinions??

Hi
Depends on the situation.
If you look at what is happening. You are breaking up a melee unit to strengthen the shooting capabilities of other units. So if u have lots of hard cover and or a crowded set up situation and planning to do alot of shooting then its problably a useful tactic.Cheers

With some units, it's a necessity. Austrian grenadiers have a zero SK value, so it's a good idea to lend them some grenzers.

It depends with Austrian Grenadiers - if you're facing units with SK 2, I wouldn't bother - either you're going to give 1 unit of grenadiers an even footing, or you're going to waste the skirmishers anyway - 2 units with SK 1 is as bad as SK 0 in most cases. Having another unit that you can use (and a large one at that) is more of an advantage.

If I were advancing longwise across the map at entrenched Russians and their murderous artillery, I'd want all the SK I could get for when I got into canister range.
