Stephen, being in the same position as you I am very interested in this question. The only clues so far have been Sam's posts in the following threads:

A more detailed update would be most welcome.
I can only just keep repeating what I've said from the outset, because nothing has changed nor will it change: All games in the Honour series will use the same basing conventions.
Of course, that means - as with Lasalle - that you choose your bases and those become your BW standard. I assume that people do different periods in different scales, so for instance my ACW figures are in 28mm on 2" (50mm) bases. But my Napoleonics are in 15mm on 40x30mm bases. It won't matter, of course, since you'll never play ACW vs. Napoleonics, but in each case, just choose your BW, and assuming your bases all have the same - or close to the same - frontage, it will be fine.
best,
Sam
Hi Sam and Alan
Thanks for your responses. I have them on 1" x 1" bases at present with 4 figs per base (for 'On to Richmond' and 'Fire and Fury') but I so love the Lasalle 40mm x 30mm with eight figures per base!

I agree the 40mm x 30mm bases look so much better for 15mm figures - hate those fiddly little BOFF bases.
40mm x 30mm works fine for most rules. In 'On to Richmond' it is the size recommended for 20mm figures (no reason not to use for 15mm) and for BOFF or RFF you can have the majority of bases as 40mm x 30mm with a couple of half bases i.e. 20mm x 30mm to make change or use a casualty marker until '2' bases are lost.
I wish all rules would use the BW system for movement and firing ranges. It makes using any figure scale or base size so easy!
